“Lightweight construction solutions for energy supply and mobility – Interministerial Working Group (IMAG) gives green light for Fabric Lausitz funding application
To strengthen the Berlin-Brandenburg lightweight construction landscape, Composites United (link to: https://composites-united.com/), as the largest network in this field, offers companies a stage for this and SMT is of course involved.
For many years, the Composites United network has been committed to strengthening and supporting the lightweight construction landscape throughout Germany. Specifically for the Berlin-Brandenburg region, the “Leichbau made in Berlin” marketing campaign offered companies around and in the capital a stage to present themselves to a broad audience. Together with the participating companies, a service portfolio was created, which was presented at a conference in Berlin on May 16. The venue chosen was the FES (Institute for Research and Development of Sports Equipment), which has also been working with composites for many years and has laid the foundations for a number of sporting successes. Inspired by this, we took the opportunity to present SMT’s current developments and research status in the field of carbon fiber processing. The topic of 3D printing using fiber reinforcement was also in focus and our Gulliver3D® generated a great deal of interest. We would like to thank Composites United for this opportunity and the many stimulating discussions show that the lightweight construction landscape is a flourishing one and we are proud to be a part of it.
