Lightweight construction as a key technology: New BMWK study and image film
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection has published a new study and an image film that emphasize the enormous importance of lightweight construction for the economy and Germany’s future viability. This technology is also a key driver of innovation for us as a manufacturer of lightweight construction solutions made from fiber composites.
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) recently presented two important publications on the topic of lightweight construction: the study “The economic importance of lightweight construction in Germany” and the image film “The future is lightweight construction”. Both publications highlight the central role that lightweight construction plays for the German economy. This forward-looking technology secures around 1.3 million jobs and contributes around 4 % of the country’s total economic output with around 120 billion euros. The study, which was carried out by Econmove GmbH on behalf of the BMWK, particularly emphasizes the economic benefits of lightweight construction. Lightweight construction makes it possible to achieve greater functionality with less material input, which not only reduces production costs but also contributes to lower CO2 emissions. This is a decisive factor in the current debate on climate protection and sustainability. For our company, which specializes in the production of lightweight solutions made from fibre composites, the findings of this study are of great importance. They not only show how important lightweight construction is for the entire economy, but also underline the growing importance of this technology for the industry of the future. Our innovative fiber composites play a central role in harnessing the benefits of lightweight construction in various sectors such as the automotive industry, construction and aviation. The accompanying image film “The future is lightweight construction”, which was presented as part of the 11th Lightweight Construction Forum, impressively shows how lightweight construction plays a role in many everyday areas – from mobility to sustainable construction. This film makes it clear that lightweight construction not only brings technological advantages, but also makes a significant contribution to people’s quality of life. For our company, strengthening and further developing lightweight construction technologies is not only an important economic success factor, but also a contribution to shaping a more sustainable future. Lightweight construction will play a key role in the coming years when it comes to overcoming the challenges of climate change and at the same time driving innovation in many areas of industry. Forster SMT is proud to be part of this future-oriented movement and to make our contribution to the further development of this crucial technology. Lightweight construction will continue to be a key driver of innovation that will have a lasting impact on our industry and the entire economy in Germany.
